Meet BLCKV3NOM: Taraba's Very Own 'Drake' and the Future of Nigerian Rap

BLCKV3NOM (AKA Venom, V3nom)
BLCKV3NOM (AKA Venom, V3nom)

Do You Know BLCKV3NOM? Probably not, but trust me, you need to.

Just listen to this, IbiFounders!

Read on, let Me tell you about him.

Hey there, it’s Simon Zaku from IBIFoundry, and today, I’m super excited to introduce you to a musical genius right here from Taraba State—Venom, aka BLCKV3NOM (real name: Abraham John Mamman).

The first time I heard about Venom was from my elder brother, Jerry Zaku.

He casually dropped, "Simon, you no sabi Venom? He's the Drake of Taraba walahi!"

Knowing Jerry, I thought he was just exaggerating like he always does. But curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to check out Venom’s music.

Omo, the moment I heard his track, I was hooked.

Venom’s music is on another level. The way he flows, his lyricism, and the energy he brings to every track—it's Drake-level good, no cap. Jerry wasn’t joking.

This guy has what it takes to dominate not just the Taraba music scene but the global stage.

Who Is BLCKV3NOM (AKA Venom)?

Venom, whose real name is Abraham John Mamman, hails from Wukari but grew up and spent most of his life in Jalingo, Taraba State.

He’s a rapper with a unique sound that combines deep lyrics, smooth delivery, and beats that stick with you long after the music stops.

What I love most about Venom’s music is its versatility. Whether he’s rapping about life, love, or society, there’s a passion in his voice that makes you stop and listen.

I can confidently say that everything Venom jumps on turns to gold.

My personal favorites? All of them!

How Did Abraham John Mamman Become 'BLCKV3NOM'?

Venom’s journey into music is a story of passion, hard work, and raw talent.

From freestyle battles to studio sessions, he’s honed his craft and built a reputation as one of the most promising artists in Taraba State.

His dedication is clear, and with the right mentorship or investment, Venom could easily break into the national or even international music scene.

Ibifoundry's Interview with BLCKV3NOM

To give you a deeper glimpse into Venom’s world, I sat down with him for an exclusive chat.

Here’s what he had to say:

Simon: Venom, what and who inspired you to start making music?

Venom: I got Inspired By NASTY C who is my Idol. Music has always been a part of me Growing up, I was surrounded by a lot of raw talent and creativity, and I wanted to be a voice for my generation.

Simon: What’s your take on the music industry in Taraba?

Venom: Taraba has so much untapped potential. The talent here is insane, but there’s lack of platforms and opportunities.

That’s why I respect what IBIFoundry is doing—giving artists like me a chance to be heard.

Simon: What’s your vision for the future?

Venom: I see myself taking Taraba music to the world and to another level.

I want people to know that we’re more than just a small state in Nigeria—we’re a hub of creativity and talent.

Simon: Any advice for upcoming artists in Taraba?

Venom: Stay true to yourself and your craft. It’s not easy, but if you’re consistent and passionate, the right people will notice.
